The foundations of Alva Golf Course namely, Longbank Park was first leased from Miss Caroline Johnstone in the spring of 1900 for the formation of a golf course, Few people could have imagined that a century later Alva Golf Club in Stirling would still be going strong at the foot of the Ochil Hills in Scotland.

Braehead Golf Club. Members are justifiably proud of their course and clubhouse facilities, however, the Club's greatest asset is the membership itself. Perhaps as a result of the manner of its birth, Braehead Golf Club remains the preserve of the ordinary working man and woman. Visitors frequently remark upon the friendliness of the welcome which they receive from members and employees alike, while many members are happy to have opted to join Braehead for the same reason, having first 'tested the water' at other Clubs.

GOLF EVENTS IN SCOTLAND

2013 Golf Open from the 14th to 21st JULY - The Open Championship returns to Muirfield in July 2013 which will be the 142nd Open Championship. Once again the worlds' greatest golfers will gather to do battle for the famous Claret Jug on the east coast of Scotland and one of the country's finest links courses. Past winners of The Open at Muirfield have included Ernie Ells most recently in 2002 and Sir Nick Faldo in 1992.
